Pivot Animator is a free software for creating simple animations with stick figures within two dimensional environments. It does not require any prior knowledge in animation and design, though you may use such knowledge to your advantage for more realistic animations. Basically the software provides templates for stick figures with flexbile joints and nodes which you can pivot around (hence the name) to move limbs and create movements. It also provides simple effects such as gun smoke and blood splash so you do not need to draw too much. You can use your drawing skills to create backgrounds and colors using brushes and shapes. This way even the complete novice can create easy and funny animations and share them as GIF.
