Inkscape is a vector graphics editor functionally similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw and Xara X and uses the W3C standard called Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). The program supports SVG features including shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha channel, transforms, gradients, textures, and grouping. Inkscape also supports metadata Creative Commons, edit nodes, layers, complex operations with contours, vectorization of raster graphics, text on a path, text editing XML-data directly and more. It imports files in formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, etc. and export files in PNG as well as in some vector formats.
