FileSearchy is an advanced file search utility as an alternative for the standard Windows tool. Its main advantage is the speed with which it can locate files; it creates a lightweight database of all file names on your hard disc and returns search results as if it were a text search within a document. Thus the results can be instantaneous and highly accurate. It highlights key terms within filenames for easy visualization and navigation. You can search within file contents as well albeit the process may take longer. One helpful feature is the file search by modification date interval so that you can see a list of all files modified by specific dates in case you forget file name.
