Komodo Edit is a powerful open source language editor with an attractive user interface and supports for various languages including Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Tcl, SQL, Smarty, CSS, HTML and XML. You can shift between languages easily using icons. The program has flexible coding features and helps such as color syntax highlighting, code folding, includes powerful searching capabilities with fuzzy matching and regular expression support and provides notifications of changes made as well as allowing to intuitively track code changes. It has an API and SDK tools with multiple plugin support for developers.
