Avira Antivir Rescue System is a portable application that is used to boot computers that have failed due to virus infections and malicious software. It is based on the Linux operating system and overrides any restrictions caused by infections that inhibit booting. Being portable it can be run from a USB, a CD or a DVD and once booted it provides helpful wizards to carry out desired tasks such as scanning for viruses and removing them, backing up valuable data and rebooting PC normally.
