FAR Manager, which is an acronym for Files and Archive Manager, is a small smart software that helps you manage files and directories in a DOS interface using text based commands. The first ever computers used DOS and only with the emergence of Windows todays modern interface has developed. Still, DOS interface retains its uses as it is much quicker to browse, copy, paste, rename files etc. It is based on keyboard shortcuts and codes that appear on the screen. It will not be a intuitive interface to work with but advanced users know the great advantages of command line interface. For example FAR Manager can still function when Windows freezes and becomes unresponsive. In general it is an excellent file manager but only for the appreciating few who are used to DOS environments.
