BatteryCare is a free utility that monitors your laptop's battery life in order to optimize its use and life cycle. It provides complete battery status information and more importantly indicates the life cycle stage of the battery (discharge cycle monitoring) which estimates when the battery should be replaced. It has a handy system tray icon and hovering over it will give you info on battery status as well CPU and HDD temperature. The program can detect your power source and automatically select your preferred power plan.
