.NET Framework (pronounced dot net) is Microsoft's programming infrastructure for developing and launching Windows apps. It comprises of Common Language Runtime (CLR), Framework Class Library (FCL) and ASP.NET modules which provide the necessary libraries, language interoperabilities, interface, data access, memory management and the general environment necessary for running applications. Programmers can incorporate the existing code and add their own source codes for a robust program running on Windows. There are several .NET Framework versions available. Some are included in some Windows OS by default and all are available for download.
